Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how MaieutApps (“MaieutApps”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) collects, uses, and shares information in connection with the website at https://maieutics.app and our Apple applications currently including Apolyte, Argyriscope, EosWake, Erebos, and Kanbarys (collectively, the “Services”).

By using the Services, you acknowledge this Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Services. For product-specific privacy details also see each app’s App Store privacy nutrition labels when published.

1. Who we are

MaieutApps builds privacy-first Apple apps. Contact for privacy requests: maieutapps@icloud.com.

2. Summary

  • We do not sell personal information.
  • We do not use advertising or third-party analytics SDKs in our apps.
  • App content and preferences are primarily stored on your device.
  • Some apps may optionally sync via Apple iCloud under your Apple ID; Apple processes that data under Apple’s terms and privacy policy.
  • We do not operate MaieutApps content backends for these apps; we do not receive your in-app content on our servers.
  • The marketing website is static and does not require an account. Contact is via your own mail client (`mailto:`).

3. Information we process

Depending on the app and features you enable, processing may include:

  • Content you create — for example messages, boards, machine lists, display profiles, notes, or similar user-generated data stored locally (and in iCloud if you enable sync).
  • Preferences and settings — theme, notifications, feature toggles, and similar configuration.
  • Permissions you grant — such as camera, photos, local network, accessibility, or notifications, used only to provide the related feature.
  • Diagnostics you choose to send — if you contact support, you may voluntarily include device model, OS version, and crash or log excerpts.
  • Website technical data — standard web-server logs (IP address, user agent, requested URL, timestamp) may be collected by the host operating the site. We do not run third-party analytics scripts on the marketing site.

4. How we use information

We use information solely to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve the Services;
  • Respond to support and privacy requests;
  • Comply with law and enforce our terms;
  • Protect the security and integrity of the Services.

5. No tracking / advertising

Our apps set tracking to false in privacy manifests where applicable and do not include third-party advertising or tracking libraries. We do not use cross-app tracking.

6. iCloud, Keychain, and on-device storage

Optional iCloud sync uses Apple CloudKit private databases associated with your Apple ID. Local storage uses Apple frameworks such as SwiftData, UserDefaults, Keychain, and Application Support directories. Apple’s privacy practices apply to Apple services you use.

7. Sharing

We do not sell personal information. We may disclose information only if required by law, to protect rights and safety, or with service providers who process data on our behalf under confidentiality (for example email or hosting). App Store purchases are processed by Apple; we do not receive your full payment card details.

8. Retention

On-device data remains until you delete it or uninstall the app. Support correspondence is retained as long as needed to resolve your request and for legitimate business or legal records. Website logs are retained according to the host’s configuration.

9. Children

The Services are not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

10. International users

We are based in jurisdictions where we operate; if you access the Services from elsewhere, your information may be processed in the United States or other countries where our hosts or Apple operate.

11. Your choices

  • Disable optional permissions in system Settings.
  • Turn off iCloud sync for an app in iCloud settings.
  • Delete local data by removing the app or clearing its data.
  • Email maieutapps@icloud.com to request access, correction, or deletion of information we hold in support channels (subject to legal exceptions).

12. Changes

We may update this Policy by posting a revised version on this page with a new “Last updated” date. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy where permitted by law.
